Laboratory answers come in accordance with international standards and always include an interpretation.

The extended cancer panel allows the analysis of mutations in 113 genes related to predisposition to various types of cancers.
Testing for genes that increase the risk of cancer is called predictive genetic testing. A positive result means you have an increased risk of developing cancer. But it doesn't mean that you have cancer or will definitely develop it.
The critical goal is to detect cancer early in high-risk individuals and to give the opportunity for better treatment results.
Comprehensive cancer NGS panel (113 genes) is a specific and sensitive panel with all known highly penetrant cancer genes. Each gene has been carefully selected based on its risk potential in the development of one of the following cancers:
- breast, ovarian (BRCA1, BRCA2, PTEN, STK11, CDH1, CHEK2, BRIP1, ATM, PALB2, NF1, TP53, BARD1, RAD51C, RAD51D)
- colorectal (APC, BMPR1A, EPCAM, KIT, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, MUTYH, PMS2, PTEN, SMAD4, STK11, TP53)
Panel includes also gastric, bowel, endometrial, pancreatic, melanoma, renal and prostate cancer.

The most common type of inherited breast cancer is hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome (HBOC). HBOC is caused by mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2. NGS panel provides critical information for affected and non-affected individuals. If your test result is positive, you have a range of options to manage your risk. Risk-reducing surgery is not the only option.
If we detect it in a healthy young person, they have the option to remain under intensive surveillance. Alternatively, she can choose to have a prophylactic mastectomy.

Thrombophilia characterized by venous thromboembolism (VTE) manifests most commonly as deep vein thrombosis in the leg, but may progress to pulmonary embolism, if the clot dislodges and travels to the lung. Pulmonary embolism is a life-threatening condition, requiring quick medical help.
If the necessary treatment is not received quickly enough, pulmonary embolism can be life-threatening.
