With our Comprehensive STD Test for Men, your sample (urine) is examined to determine 8 common STDs:
Who should take the test?
The majority of sexually transmitted diseases can be asymptomatic, leading to the possibility of having an infection without realizing it. Were you aware that having one STD increases the likelihood of having multiple STDs? Our Comprehensive STD Test is for anyone who is sexually active and wants a complete overview of their sexual health. As many STDs are asymptomatic, early detection and treatment is important to avoid longterm consequences.
How does it work?
Once your order has been processed, you will be sent a sample collection kit. You collect your sample from the comfort of your own home and send it right back to Verisana partner laboratory. The lab analyzes your samples. Following the completion of the analysis, you will receive a lab report that includes explanations for the analyzed markers and details on potential symptoms linked to imbalances.
We recommend performing the analysis 2-4 weeks after exposure to infection or when the symptoms appear.
How long will it take to receive my findings? What will my results tell me?
If one or more of the STDs tested have been discovered, you should speak to a doctor about treatment options. In the case of bacterial STDs (e.g. chlamydia, gonorrhea), you should immediately start treatment prescribed by a doctor. contact@valeomed.ee.
How is my privacy protected?
Samples for our tests are collected in the privacy of your own home. Both we and Verisana partner laboratories take customer privacy very seriously.
You will be the sole person with access to this information, and we guarantee that we will not disclose your information to any unauthorized third parties. Additionally, all samples will be disposed of after analysis.
Can I get an STD multiple times?
Getting infection does not provide immunity. If a subsequent infection is suspected, the test should be repeated.
Candida (albicans)
Actually, candidiasis is not a sexually transmitted disease. Although yeast infections are more common in vaginas, candida–the type of fungus responsible for vaginal yeast–can also cause penile yeast infections. Carrying small amounts of candida is fairly common. However, sometimes candida can overgrow, causing a yeast infection.
Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a bacterial infection caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. It is typically transmitted through sexual contact and often remains asymptomatic. One of the most common sexually transmitted diseases worldwide. If left untreated, the infection can spread to other parts of your body and lead to long-term health problems, especially in women. In women, untreated chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ectopic pregnancy and infertility. In men, in rare cases, chlamydia can spread to the testicles and epididymis (tubes that carry sperm from the testicles), causing them to become painful and swollen.
Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae and primarily spreads through sexual contact. In women, it often exhibits no noticeable symptoms. Gonorrhea can lead to infections in the genital, rectal, and throat areas. If left untreated, it can result in complications, including the potential for infertility.
Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis is the result of an infection caused by the protozoan parasite known as Trichomonas vaginalis. This infection is typically transmitted through sexual contact, and women tend to exhibit symptoms more frequently than men. Common symptoms include a malodorous discharge, genital itching, and discomfort during urination or sexual intercourse. While complications are infrequent, trichomoniasis during pregnancy can be associated with issues such as pre-labor rupture of membranes, preterm delivery, and low birth weight.
Mycoplasma and ureaplasma
Mycoplasmas and ureaplasmas often colonize the mucous membranes of the urinary and genital organs. This includes microbes such as Mycoplasma hominis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Ureaplasma urealyticum and others. The pathogenicity of Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma has been studied and discussed a lot. It has been found that 60% of normal healthy women carry Ureaplasma urealyticum and 20% of women carry Mycoplasma hominis.
An increase in the concentration of Mycoplasmas and Ureaplasmas and a disturbance of the normal microflora can contribute to cause the disease - inflammation of the urinary tract and internal genital organs, which manifests as increased discharge from the genital tract, urination disorders, abdominal pain, and sexual dysfunction.
The presence of mycoplasmosis during pregnancy increases the risk of placental infection and preterm delivery, as well as increased risk of postpartum infection.
Gardnerella vaginalis and Atopobium vaginae
These microbes can be present in small amounts in the microbiota of healthy people. If its colonization is too large, bacterial vaginosis and inflammation may occur. A fishy vaginal smell is a sign of a vaginal infection. While men can't get bacterial vaginosis (BV), some research shows that they may be able to spread it. Treatment of the male patient is usually not recommended, except in recurrent cases in a female partner.
